Rashomon

I love this movie. It is the second time I have seen it, the first was in high school. I love the idea behind it; that every person has their own distorted version of the truth.

My favorite section of the movie was the testimony of the dead man. One would think that, since he is dead, he would have no problems telling the truth... But the fact that he distorts it to make him have a more honorable death (rather than the almost comedic fight and death that was told in the 'true' story at the end of the movie) .

There are only two things that bother me about this movie; the crying of the woman (it really grates on my nerves) and the length. At some points in the movie I am ready to leave (even though I know I love this movie). But with the wonderful there much be some not so awesome points to make the wonderful stand out even more.

Mujou

Ah, Cherry Blossoms. The most obvious example of Mujou. Just like all things precious to us, they only last for a short while. And that is why our favorite things in the world are like Mujou; we yearn for them for long periods of time but once we get them, they disappear very quickly.
